In the ’90s, R&B was in its prime. With groups such as Jodeci, Silk, and Boyz II Men supplying us with quality, authentic music, it’s easy to remember just why we have become obsessed with the sounds of that time. Unfortunately though, more than 20 years have passed and we still haven’t been able to replicate the same feeling from music that we got back then.Only a couple years removed from the Bad Boy circle, the Day26 guys are making a return with all orignal members Robert Curry, Brian Andrews, Willie Taylor, Qwanell Mosley, and Michael McCluney. They take on Silk’s ’90s Quiet Storm classic “Lose Control. Though a cover, Day 26 seems to be getting back to the basics by slowing it down and making baby-making music. The EP, The Return, drops on Thursday, June 26. I love effort from the guys, but check their version and Silk’s live version from the Apollo in the 90’s. Hmmm I think Lil G is the truth!!!! Sorry guys…Silk 1 to 0.
